Wow Masala Rice

Wow Masala Rice (MTR ready masala) is easy and perfect one pot meal. Enjoy this new flavoured rice with your choice of vegetables. You can make pasta, noodles with this masala powder. A easy packed lunch option.

 

Ingredients

  • Wow Masala Rice

    1 cup rice
  • 1 capsicum chopped
  • 1/2 cup beans chopped
  •  1 carrot shredded
  • 1/4 cup cabbage
  • 1/4 cup steamed peas
  • 1/2 tsp. mustard
  • 1/2 tsp.chana dal
  • 1/2 tsp. urad dal
  • Hing-Pinch
  • Curry leaves-few
  • Turmeric pwd-pinch
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • 2 tbsp MTR Wow Magic Masala pwd
Method: 
     
Cook rice and Spread it on a plate. 
'Heat oil add mustard seeds, after it splutters , add chana dal, urad dal, hing, curry leaves, turmeric and fry until golden brown
Add the vegetables and stir fry well. 
Next add the chilies, salt and mix well. Add rice, add the masala powder and mix well. 

Serve Wow Masala Richot with raita or papad or enjoy just like that.

Tomato Peas Biryani

Tomato Peas Biryani is easy and quick one pot meal.  Spicy and tasty!


Biryani is an interesting dish with a variety of spices and herbs that gives it a  distinct taste and aroma.  Biryani can be served with a variety of accompaniments such as raita, a yogurt-based side dish, or chutney, a spicy sauce made with herbs and fruits. It is often served at special occasions such as weddings and festivals, and is a favorite among food lovers.



  • Basmati rice 1 cup
  • Tomato 2 chopped and pureed
  • Onion 1 chopped
  • Peas- steamed 1/2 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste-1/2 tsp
  • Green chillies-1-2
  • Biryani Masala 1 tsp
  • Garam masala-1 tsp
  • Dhania Jeera pwd-1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Coconut milk-1 tbsp

Seasoning
  • Oil + Ghee 2 tblsp
  • Elachi 1
  • Cinnamon 1 piece
  • Clove 1
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Cashew nuts-few

Method- 

Soak basmati rice for at least 1 hour.(follow instructions on pkt). Heat a pressure cooker/pan  with oil and add all items under seasoning. Add green chillies, onions and fry well. Add ginger garlic paste, and fry for a minute. Then add tomato puree, steamed peas.  Add salt, tumeric, Biryani masala powder and mix.

Add rice and water, add coconut milk and pressure cook

Serve Tomato Peas Biryani hot with raita .

Avarekayi Masala Bhath

Avarekayi Masala Bhath is easy and perfect one pot meal. Avarekayi blended with Coconut, Amla and chilies in rice tastes delicious. Try it out during the Avarekayi season.  Avarekalu is Hyacinth Beans or Vaal.
Avarekayi Masala Bhath

Ingredients:

1 cup rice
1 cup boiled avarekayi 
 2 amla chopped
2-3 green chilies.
1/2 tsp. mustard
1/2 tsp.chana dal
1/2 tsp. urad dal
Hing-Pinch
Curry leaves-few
Turmeric pwd-pinch
2 tbsp. oil
Salt to taste
Grated coconut-2 tbsp


Method:

Cook rice and Spread it on a plate. Grind Amla, chilies, coconut, coriander leaves in a mixer. Do not add water.
Next heat oil , add mustard seeds, after it splutters , add chana dal, urad dal, hing, curry leaves, turmeric and fry until golden brown.  Add the boiled avarekayi, ground paste, salt and mix well. Add rice, and mix well. 

Serve Avarekayi Masala Bhath hot with raita or papad or enjoy just like that.

Hurlikayi Carrot Masale Bhath

Hurlikayi Carrot Masale Bhath (Green Beans with Carrot) , a wonderful combination of the two veggies with spices, making it a colourful and easy one pot meal. Very easy to prepare.
The dash of coconut makes it more delicious. Enjoy!


1  cup  Green Beans(hurlikayi)  

1 cup Carrots
(chopped)

2-3 Tbsp shredded Coconut
1-2 green chillies chopped
1 tbsp Bhath Pwd
1 Tbsp Lime juice
Salt to taste

Seasoning
1/2 tsp mustard
1/2 tsp jeera
1/2 tsp chana dal
1/2 tsp urad dal
1 Tbsp Oil
Turmeric-pinch
Hing-pinch
Curry leaves

Method:  

Cook rice and spread it on plate.

Heat oil in a pan. Add the items in seasoning ,once done,add the chopped vegetables and fry for few mins.

 Add salt. Cover and cook on low flame.Once done, add cooked rice, Bhath powder, grated coconut , lemon juice.  Mix well.

Methi Capsicum Rice

Methi Capsicum Rice / Menthya Soppu Donne Mensinkayi Bhath  is easy and perfect one pot meal. Stir fried Methi leaves or Fenugreek leaves with capsicum blended with spices  tastes delicious. Aloo Fry Masala Rice

 Aloo Fry Masala Rice or Roasted Aloo Rice  is made from simple potatoes roasted in oil and blended in Bhath powder into a nice spicy delicious rice.  Ready to eat meal in less time. Perfect for lunch box too. Kids will love it.



  • 3 big Potatoes
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp chana dal
  • 1/2 tsp urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp jeera
  • Hing-pinch
  • Turmeric-pinch
  • 2-3 tsp Bhath pwd
  • 1 tbsp besan
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup rice.

Method: 

Cook rice well and spread it on a plate.
Cut the potatoes in small pieces. 
Heat Oil in pan, add mustard, chanadal, 
uraddal, jeera, hing tumeric, curry leaves, 
and fry for some time next add the potatoes and fry. 
Keep frying in between till done.

Add the masala pwd in the oil. Next add salt and mix well, fry for some time till the masala coats well on t
he potatoes.  Add the rice and mix.

Pudina Peas Rice

Pudina Peas Rice  is an easy peas and mint flavored rice. Mint leaves with coconut, spices and peas makes it a tasty one pot meal.

Ingredients:
1 cup rice
1/2 cup peas steamed
1 cup mint leaves
6-8 green chillies, chopped
1/2 cup coconut shredded
1 tbsp. chopped coriander leaves
1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
1 tsp. cumin seeds
1/2 tsp chana dal
1/2tsp urad dal
Few Cashews nuts
1 tbsp. lemon juice 
Salt to taste
2-3 tbsp. oil

Method: 

Cook rice and spread it on a plate to cool. 
Meanwhile, blend mint leaves, coconut, chillies in without adding water.  
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, jeera, chana dal, urad dal, cashews once done, add mint mix and fry for 10 minutes. 
Next add peas, salt and mix well. 
Add rice, lemon juice and mix well. Serve hot with raita and papad.

Shahi Pulao

Shahi Pulao is healthy combination of rice with vegetables, paneer and dry fruits.  You can enjoy it with gravy or just like that.

Ingredients

2 cup basmati rice
1/2 cup sliced onions
1/2 cup tomatoes

1 cup (mix vegetables-beans,carrot,potatoes, peas)
2-3 black pepper
1/2 tsp jeera
1/2 cinnamon
2 cloves
2 cardamoms
1 bay leaf
1 green chillies
finely chopped
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp oil
2 tbsp curds
salt to taste
Saffron milk -2 tbsp
Garam masala-1/2 tsp
Pulao masala-1/2 tsp (opt)
Coriander leaves-few
Mint leaves - few

Topping

Paneer-few cubes
Dry fruits-few 
Bread pieces-few
Onion shredded-few


Method

Fry dry fruits, paneer, onion,bread crumbs and keep it aside.

Wash the rice and keep aside. Heat the butter and oil in a pressure cooker/pan add the pepper,cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and sauté for 1 min. Add the onions and sauté. Next add the tomatoes and sauté for 1 minute. Add curds and mix well. Next add garam masala, Pulao masala and 2 cups of hot water, salt, turmeric powder, green chillies and stir for a few seconds. Add saffron milk and mix well. Pressure cook for 2 whistles.  Once done fluff the rice and top it with the items fried earlier. Serve hot with raita of your choice.

Cabbage Kayi Sasive Chitranna

Cooked rice: 1 cup
Salt-for taste

Grinding
  • Grated coconut: 1/2 cup
  • Sasive/Mustard seeds: 2 tsp
  • Red chilli: 5-7 (according to taste)
  • Salt:for taste
  • Jaggery-1/2 tsp
  • Tamarind paste-1 tsp

Seasoning-

  • peanuts: 15-20 
  • Hing-Pinch
  • oil for frying 3-4 tsp
  • Mustard -1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal-1/2 tsp
  • Chana dal-1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Cabbage-1/2 cup shredded


Method-  Pressure cook rice. Spread it on a plate for cool. Fry cabbage in oil and keep it aside. Pressure cook rice and spread it on plate to cool. Grind coconut, hing, mustard and red chillies to a nice paste. (If required, add a little water  while grinding) Take a kadai, heat oil and add peanuts and fry well. Keep aside. Add mustard, chana dal,  urad dal, curry leaves and sauté.  Add the coconut paste mixture,cabbage and fry well.  Add the rice, salt, fried peanuts and mix well and serve hot and spicy Cabbage Kayi Sasive Chitranna with raita or papad/sandige.

Sweet Corn Rice

Sweet Corn Rice is rice blended with healthy sweet corn and spices. Enjoy hot with Sabzi, gravy or raita. Kids will love it.

Sweet Corn Rice

Ingredients
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 tsp jeera
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 1 bay leaf

  • 2-4 pepper
  • 1-2 green chillies
  • 1/2 cup steamed sweet corn
  • Water as req
  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee
  • Cashews-few (roasted)
  • salt as required

Method-

Soak the basmati rice in water for 30-40 minutes.(or follow instructions on the packet) 
Heat oil in pan, next add the spices and fry, add the soaked rice and sauté for 1-2 mins.
Add salt and required water. Cover and cook till the rice is done, once done add the steamed sweet corn mix the rice carefully and serve hot with sabzi and raita for your choice.

Pudi Chitranna

Pudi Chitranna is a easy seasoned rice variety with goodness of ground lentils added to it making it healthy and tasty. Kids will definitely love it. Chitranna is a favorite South Indian Rice variety, you can make variety of chitranna aka one pot meal. 


Masala Chitranna, Pudi
Pudi Chitranna

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup rice (cooked)
  • 1/4 cup fresh coconut(grated)
  • salt to taste
To grind :
  • Chana dal- 2 tsp
  • Urad dal- 2 tsp
  • Dhania/ Coriander seeds- 1 tsp
  • Methi/ Fenugreek seeds- 1/4 tsp
  • Jeera/ Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
  • Red chillies- 5 to 6 

Seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2  tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp channa dal
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 2 tbsp peanuts
  • Hing pinch
  • Ground pudi-1-2 tbsp
  • Red chilly-1 (opt)
  • few Curry leaves
  • Few coriander leaves
  • Oil-2 tbsp


Method:  Dry roast all the items mentioned in to grind. Once cool, ground into coarse powder. Next allow the rice to cool ,spread it on a plate. Next heat oil in kadai, roast peanuts and keep it aside, next add the other items in seasoning, roast well, add the ground pudi  and fry add the rice to this seasoning. Add the grated coconut, salt and peanuts and mix well. Saute for 1-2 mins. Garnish the rice with coriander leaves. Serve hot .

Amla Sandige Rice / Neelikayi Sandige Chitranna

Nellikai Sandige Chitranna is a easy seasoned rice variety with crushed crisps added to it.  Kids will definitely love it. Chitranna is a favorite South Indian Rice variety, you can make variety of chitranna aka one pot meal. 

This is a very simple one with goodness of Amla or Nellikai (gooseberry) in kannada. Amla is an immunity booster and is loaded with vitamins and nutrients and can be included in your diet regime.

  • 1 cup rice (cooked)
  • salt to taste
  • Fried Sandige
  • shredded amla -4-5
Seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2  tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp channa dal
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 6-7 cashew nuts
  • 2 tbsp peanuts
  • Hing pinch
  • few Curry leaves
  • Few coriander leaves
  • Oil-2 tbsp
  • Green chillies-1-3
  • Fresh coconut grated



Method:  Cook rice and allow the rice to cool, spread it on a plate. Next heat oil in kadai, roast cashews and peanuts and keep it aside, next add the other items in seasoning, roast well, add the rice to this seasoning. Add the grated coconut, salt cashews and peanuts and mix well. Add the shredded amla / nellikai. Saute for 1-2 mins. Fry Sandige well. Crush them and add to the rice. Mix well. Garnish the rice with coriander leaves.
