Capsicum Paddu

Capsicum Paddu or Appe or Paniyaram is a yummy recipe made from left over Dosa-Idli Batter using the Paddu tava. An easy and delicious, gluten-free breakfast or snack recipe.  


A perfect bite-sized burst of flavor that's both healthy and delicious.



Ingredients

Dosa Batter-2.5 cup
Salt as per taste
Few Coriander leaves 
Green chillies-2-4 chopped
Chopped Capsicum
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Peanuts- few (optional ) 
Oil as required for making paddu







Method:  

Finely chopped capsicum. Add the above mentioned items except oil along with capsicum into the dosa batter and mix well. Next apply oil to the paddu tava and pour the batter in the holes of tava and keep it on low flame. Cover. Once done turn it over and cook the other side. 

Serve Capsicum Paddu hot with chutney or sauce or enjoy just like that.

Dahi Simla Mirch Masala

Dahi Simla Mirch Masala – A Quick & Delicious Side Dish

Dahi Simla Mirch Masala is a simple and flavorful dish prepared with capsicum, curds, and aromatic spices. It pairs wonderfully with chapati, phulka, or rice.

What is Dahi Simla Mirch Masala?

Capsicum (Bell Pepper / Simla Mirch) blends beautifully with curd and spices. This quick sautéed dish gives a creamy, tangy, and mildly spicy flavor profile.

Ingredients

  • Capsicum (Bell Pepper) – 2, finely sliced
    Dahi Simla Mirch
  • Onion – 2, finely sliced
  • Besan (Chickpea Flour) – 2 tsp
  • Roasted peanuts, crushed – 2 tsp
  • Thick curds (Yogurt) – 3 tbsp
  • Oil – 3 tbsp
  • Salt – as needed

Seasoning

  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds (Jeera) – 1 tsp
  • Hing – a pinch
  • Urad dal – ½ tsp
  • Chana dal – ½ tsp
  • Turmeric – a pinch
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Green chilies – 1–2 finely chopped
  • Dhaniya-Jeera powder – ½ tsp
  • Rasam powder – ½ tsp
  • Sabzi Masala – 1 tsp

Method

1. Heat oil in a pan on medium flame and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing, urad dal, chana dal, turmeric, curry leaves, and green chilies.

2. Once they splutter, add sliced capsicum and onion. Sauté until soft.

3. Add besan, roasted peanuts, dhaniya-jeera powder, rasam powder, and sabzi masala. Cook on low flame for 5 minutes.

4. Add salt and thick curds. Mix well and cook for just 1 minute. Do not overcook after adding curds.

5. Serve hot with chapati or rice.

Adjust spice levels as per your taste.

Capsicum Sandwich 3

Capsicum Sandwich 3 is simple and easy to make. Enjoy as a quick snack or mini dinner.  

Ingredients
    • Dahi Capsicum Sabzi
    • a few chopped coriander leaves
    • Sandwich masala 
    • 8 Bread slices 
    • Butter
    • Salt
    • Green Chutney
    • Ketchup
      Method:


      Take bread, apply butter and  green chutney, add the capsicum mix ,add some sandwich masala, cover with another chutney-butter spread bread. Place it on the tava. Add butter and toast it well till it becomes golden  brown.
      Serve Capsicum Sandwich hot with chutney or ketchup. 
      You can also add cheese to make it more tastier.

      Capsicum Onion Masala Bhath

      Capsicum Onion Masala Bhath or Rice is an easy one flavorful pot meal -healthy and comforting ! Perfect lunch box recipe. 


       Ingredients
      • 1 cup rice
      • 2 onions chopped 
      • 2 Capsicum chopped
      • 1/2 tsp. mustard
      • 1/2 tsp.chana dal
      • 1/2 tsp. urad dal
      • 1/2 tsp peanuts 
      • Hing-Pinch
      • Curry leaves-few
      • 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
      • 1 tsp. tamarind paste
      • 2 tbsp. oil
      • Salt to taste
      • 2 tbsp. Bhath Powder
      • grated coconut-2 tbsp


      Method- Capsicum Onion Masala Bhath Recipe
      • Cook rice and Spread it on a plate.
      • Heat oil fry peanuts and keep it aside, next add mustard seeds, after it splutters , add chana dal, urad dal, hing, curry leaves, turmeric and fry until golden brown.
      • Add the chopped onion, capsicum and stir fry well for 3-4 mins. Keep it crunchy
      • Next add bhath powder, tamarind paste, salt and mix well.
      • Add the cooked rice to the pan and gently mix to coat with the masala.
      • Cook on low heat for 2–3 minutes so flavors combine well.
      • Garnish with coconut.
      • Serve Capsicum Onion Masala Bhath hot with raita or crisps or enjoy just like that.

      Spiced just right, served with love.

      Capsicum Onion StirFry

      Ingredients
      • Capsicum (Bell Pepper)-2 big thinly chopped 
        Bell Pepper Stir Fry
        Capsicum Onion Stirfry

      • Onion -2 big chopped 
      • Tomato-2 chopped
      • Oil 3 Tbsp
      • salt to taste
      Seasoning
      • Mustard seeds 1 Tsp
      • Cumin seeds /Jeera 1 Tsp
      • Hing-Pinch
      • Urad Dal 1/2 tsp
      • Chana Dal 1/2 tsp
      • Turmeric-pinch
      • Curry leaves-few
      • green chiles -1-2 finely chopped
      • Dhaniya-jeera pwd-1/2 tsp
      • Rasam pwd-1/2 tsp
      • Bhathpwd- 2 tbsp 

      Method- 

      Heat oil for in a frying pan over moderate heat. Add items mentioned in seasoning Once done add capsicum, onion, tomato and sauté well. Once done add the masala pwds to capsicum and stir-fry over low heat for 5 - 7 minutes till capsicums are tender. Add salt and mix well.

      Serve Capsicum Onion Stir Fry  hot with chapati or rice.

      Adjust the spices/salt as per your taste and preferences.

      Stuffed Capsicum

      Stuffed Capsicum is very tasty and delicious side dish for Indian Breads. Check out the recipe below...

      Ingredients
      6 small Capsicum
      1 tsp jeera
      1 cup potato boiled and mashed
      Stuffed Capsicum 


      1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
      1/2 tsp turmeric pwd
      1/2 tsp Dhani jeera pwd
      1/2 tsp red chilli pwd
      1/2 tsp garam masala
      Salt to taste
      Grated cheese
      Roasted cashews
      Oil for roasting the capsicum

      Gravy
      1 onion chopped
      1 tomato  chopped
      1 green chilies
      few cashews
      1 tsp Dhani jeera pwd
      1/2 tsp red chilli pwd
      1/2 tsp garam masala
      1/2 tsp Shahi paneer masala
      1 tsp tomato ketchup
      Salt to taste
      1-2 tsp butter
      1 tsp cream


      Method-

      To begin with cut the top of the capsicum scoop out the insides carefully. Keep it aside. In a pan, heat oil , next add jeera  and green chilies, next add ginger garlic paste and fry well. Next add the masala pwds and fry well. Add the mashed potatoes and mix well. Add the salt. Mix well. Let the stuffing cool down . Next add the grated cheese and cashews and mix.

      Take the capsicum slowly stuff with the mixture prepared. In a pan, add oil ,carefully slide the stuffed capsicum and fry it for 1-2 mins till it looks slightly roasted. Remove on a tissue.

      Gravy-.  In a kadai, heat butter, add jeera, next add chopped onions, tomato fry well, add cashews and green chilies. Once done, grind without water. In  a kadai, add the ground mix, add masala pwds and mix well. Cook for 1-2 mins. Add salt, cream and mix. Add the roasted and stuffed capsicum into the gravy and simmer for 1-2 mins. 

      Serve the stuffed capsicum with the hot gravy with Indian Breads- rotis/ parathas/pooris

      Adjust the salt/spices as per your taste and preferences.

      Capsicum Sabudana

      Capsicum Sabudana or Sabudana Khichdi can be made as filling breakfast for a good start of your day. Absolutely delicious and tasty and easy recipe, try it out!!

      This dish beautifully blends the earthy essence of sabudana (tapioca pearls) with the  crunch of green capsicum (bell peppers), creating a nutritious and delicious experience.
      An easy gluten free vegan delight!  It's a good source of Carbohydrates!
       

      Ingredients

      Sabudana Khichdi, Capsicum Sabudana, Sabudana Upma

      Capsicum Sabudana

      • 1 cup sabudana(sago)  
      • 1-2 Green Chilies finely chopped
      • Few peanuts fried
      • 1 cup onion
      • 1 cup chopped capsicum
      • 2 tsp Oil
      • 1 tsp Jeera /Cumin seeds
      • 1 Pinch Hing (asafetida) 
      • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
      • 1/2 tsp chana dal
      • 1/2 tsp urad dal
      • 1 tsp Lemon juice 
      • Salt to taste 
      • Coriander leaves-few
      • Curry Leaves-few


      Method
      • Wash the sabudana in water and soak it in water for about 3-4 hours in water and use it when they become soft and double in volume.
      • Heat the oil/ghee in a pan fry peanuts and keep it aside, next add cumin seeds, mustard seeds,  chana dal urad dal and hing. Once done add the green chilies and curry leaves and chopped capsicum, onion and fry till done.
      •  Let them cook till they are light brown on the outside. Add soaked sabudana and mix gently. Let it cook for 10 - 15 mins .
      • Then add fried peanuts and salt. Mix well.
      • Garnish with coriander leaves.
      • Sprinkle some lemon juice over it and serve Capsicum Sabudana hot. Enjoy !
      • Adjust the spice levels and other ingredients according to your taste preferences.

      Capsicum Aloo Stir fry 2

      Capsicum Aloo Stir Fry is a spicy side dish for Indian breads. A blend of green chilies, shredded raw mango, coconut is added to capsicum.

      Ingredients
      Seasoning
      • Mustard seeds 1 Tsp
      • Cumin seeds /Jeera 1 Tsp
      • Hing-Pinch
      • Urad Dal 1/2 tsp
      • Chana Dal 1/2 tsp
      • Turmeric-pinch
      • Curry leaves-few
      • green chiles -4-5 finely chopped
      • Shredded raw mango -1/2 cup
      • Coconut-1/4 cup

      Method- 

      Heat oil for in a frying pan over moderate heat. Add items mentioned in seasoning Once done add capsicum, potato slices and saute for 1 - 2 min. Once done add shredded raw mango, green chilies, coconut to capsicum and stir-fry over low heat for 5 - 7 minutes till capsicums are tender. Add salt mix well.

      Serve Capsicum Aloo Stir fry 2 hot with chapati or rice.

      Methi Capsicum Rice

      Methi Capsicum Rice / Menthya Soppu Donne Mensinkayi Bhath  is easy and perfect one pot meal. Stir fried Methi leaves or Fenugreek leaves with capsicum blended with spices  tastes delicious. Enjoy this healthy green rice with raita or papad. Leafy vegetables are packed with essential vitamins and minerals, iron, and fiber which is important for maintaining good health.

      Methi Capsicum Rice

      Ingredients

      • 1 cup rice

      • 1 cup of methi leaves (cleaned/chopped)
      • 1/2 tsp. mustard

      Sweet Corn - 1/2 cup

      Ingredients:
      • Bread
      • Butter 
      • capsicum-finely chopped
      • Pepper pwd for sprinkling
      • salt
      • italian seasoning






      Green Chutney:
      • 4-5 green chillies, chopped 
      • Coriander leaves,Mint
      • Fresh grated coconut -1/2 cup
      • Roasted gram dal-hurikadle
      • 1 tsp. tamarind paste
      • Salt to taste

      Method: Grind all the chutney ingredients to a smooth paste with little water. Keep aside.

      Remove the edges of the bread slices, apply butter, apply green chutney, mix capsicum with salt, italian seasoning and add onto the bread. Add some pepper powder. Apply butter, chutney and on 
      another bread slice,  place this on top layer. 

      Toast it and Cut it in any shape and serve.

      Capsicum Tomato Avalakki

      • 1 cup poha (flaked rice /avalakki) 
      • Tomatoes-2 finely chopped

      • 1/2 tsp. Urad Dal
      • 1/2 tbsp Peanut

      Soak the poha in water for 5 minutes. Wash thoroughly and drain the water completely. Heat oil in a pan, fry peanuts and keep it aside then add mustard seeds, after it splutters, add chana dal/urad dal, hing,turmeric and stir fry. Add green chillies or bhath pwd,curry leaves. Add chopped tomatoes,capsicum and fry it for a while. Add soaked avalakki, salt and mix well. Add coconut, lemon juice, coriander leaves mix carefully. Serve Capsicum Tomato Avalakki hot.

      Paneer Capsicum Masala

      Paneer Capsicum Masala

      Ingredients
      • Paneer cubes-1 cup
      • Capsicum-4 roasted and pureed
      • Cashew-5-8 
      • Tomatoes roasted and pureed- 2-3
      • Ginger garlic paste-1/2 tsp
      • Chilli powder- 1 tsp
      • Dhania jeera pwd-1tsp
      • Garam Masala-1 tsp
      • Kasuri methi- 1 tsp
      • Cinnamon-small piece
      • Cardamom-1 piece
      • cloves-1 or 2
      • Fresh cream- 2-3 tbsp
      • Salt to taste
      • Butter - 2 tablespoons
      Method
      Heat butter in a pan. Add the dry spices and tomatoes, capsicum and cashew and fry well. Blend it in a blender. Next add butter, add the ginger-garlic paste and saute well. Next add chilli powder,garam masala and fry for a minute. Add the pureed mix and cook till oil separates.  Add water to make the gravy. Next add salt and paneer and cook for a minute. Finally add the fresh cream and simmer for 5-10 mins.Garnish with crushed kasuri methi. Serve hot with Indian Breads. You can add onion to give it extra taste.

      Capsicum Rice Sevai

      Capsicum Rice Sevai  is an enjoyable healthy filling breakfast recipe. A perfect start for your busy day.

      Ingredients:
      · 2 cups rice vermicelli 
      · 1 cup simla mirch thinly sliced

      Seasoning

      · 4-5 green chillies chopped
      · few curry leaves
      · 1 tbsp oil
      · 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
      .1/2 tsp jeera
      · 1 tsp urad dal
      · 1 tsp channa dal
       .Turmeric-pinch
      . Hing-pinch
      · Salt for taste
      · Water

      Garnishing
      · 1-2 tbsp grated coconut
      · Few coriander leaves


      Method:
      • Boil water in a vessel.In a bowl add the rice sevai ,add the hot water allow to rest for 5-10 mins.Next in a kadai , add oil,fry the cashews and keep it aside. Next add mustard seeds, followed by urad dal, channa dal ,and jeera, hing, curry leaves, chopped chilies, turmeric and sauté well. Now, add sliced capsicum and stir fry well .Strain the vermicelli and add to the kadai,add salt.
      • Mix well. Add the fried cashews and mix well.
      • Garnish with coconut.Serve hot.
