Kitchen Bloopers

Kitchen Bloopers: The Hilarious Side of Cooking

Let’s be honest—cooking Indian food isn’t always the graceful, aromatic journey Instagram makes it seem. Behind every perfect roti is a trail of sticky dough, smoking tadkas, and at least one overflowing vessel of milk. If you’ve had your fair share of kitchen bloopers, you’re not alone.

Making the humble chapati dough-if you don't have a roti maker or a bai to make your chapatis...and its your turn today--

Trying to knead atta for rotis sounds simple—until your hands are stuck in a gummy mess, the dough is either too dry or too sticky, and somehow, your elbow has atta on it too. The dough looks like it needs therapy, and so do you.

 The Pressure Cooker Panic

The cooker whistle has one job—but it's either shy or extremely dramatic. It won’t whistle for ages, and just when you lean in to check—BOOM! Your heart skips a beat, your dal is still raw, the chana undone..

The Rice-Water Ratio

Making rice is the easiest they said. One cup rice, two cups water, that's it. But how does the water disappear so fast? One moment you're casually scrolling Instagram, the next you're looking at rice fused to the pot like some ancient artifact. You add more water. Now it's soup. You drain it. Now it’s mush.

The Milk Overflow- Everyone has atleast got caught once!

You're boiling milk for chai, and in that one moment you check WhatsApp—WHOOSH! The milk overflows, spreads, sticks, burns, and mocks you silently.

The smaller ones-

The salt is more, the masala is too much or its a wrong mix, the tadka got burnt. and you keep learning....until you get it right!

Cooking is messy, chaotic, fun, and wildly unpredictable—but so is life. And just like life, it’s better with a bit of humor and spice.

At the end, it’s about resilience, a touch of jugaad, and the determination to turn it right!

Happy Cooking!

Thank you!
