Cashew Rice |
Cashew Rice is rice blended with cashews / Kaju and mild Indian spices. Enjoy hot with Sabzi, gravy or raita.
Ingredients
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 tsp jeera
- 1 inch cinnamon
- 1 bay leaf
- 1-2 cloves
- 2-4 pepper
- 1 Green chilly
- 1-2 star anise
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp oil or ghee
- Cashews-1/4 cup
- salt as required
- Onion-finely sliced-1/2 cup
Method-Soak the basmati rice in water for 30-40 minutes.(or follow instructions on the packet) Heat oil in pan, add oil, add the spices, cashews, onions and fry well. Next add the soaked rice and sauté for 1-2 mins. Add salt and required water. Cover and cook till the rice is done, once done fluff the rice and serve hot with sabzi and raita for your choice.
