Sushila

Sushila 

Sushila is a quick and easy recipe that I tasted as part of my breakfast menu during my trip to Solapur. A local traditional cuisine. Very tasty and easy to prepare.  I tried it back home and it came out well.. Your turn now!

Below is the recipe for Sushila

Ingredients: 
  • 4 cups puffed rice
  • 1 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup sev
  • 1/2 cup raw mango shredded
  • 1/2 tsp Lemon juice (opt)
  • salt 
  • Coriander leaves-few
  • 2 tbsp roasted dal pwd 
  • 2 tbsp roasted peanut pwd
  • Seasoning
  • Oil-1 tsp
  • Few curry leaves
  • Green chilies-4-5 finely chopped
  • Asafetida/hing- pinch
  • Turmeric-pinch
  • few-peanuts
  • 1/2 tsp mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Jeera

Method: 

Fry the peanuts and keep it aside. Clean and wash the Kadle puri / Kurmura in water and rinse it out. Keep it aside. Next in a big kadai, heat oil add the items mentioned in the seasoning. Once done add chopped onions, fry well. Next add the puffed rice, salt,  fried peanuts, peanut powder, roasted dal powder and mix well. Add coriander leaves, shredded raw mango, lemon juice and serve Sushila immediately.

Adjust the salt/spices as per your taste and preferences.

Cucumber KadlePuri Upma

Puffed Rice upma / Kadle Puri Snack or Bhadang is a quick and easy recipe. Spicy tangy and delicious too.  Enjoy this murmura upma with your evening  cup of tea or coffee you will love it. This is the cucumber version.


Ingredients: 

Cucumber KadlePuri Upma
        4 cups puffed rice/kadlepuri (kurmura)
  • 1 cup finely chopped Cucumber
  • 1-2 tsp Rasam pwd
  • 1/2 tsp Lemon juice
  • salt 
  • Seasoning
  • Oil-1 tsp
  • Few curry leaves
  • Asafetida/hing- pinch
  • Turmeric-pinch
  • few-peanuts
  • 1/2 tsp mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Jeera
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp chana dal




Method: 

Fry the peanuts and keep it aside. 
Clean and wash the Kadle puri in water and rinse it out. Keep it aside. 
Next in a big kadai, heat oil add the items mentioned in the seasoning.
Once done add chopped cucumber, fry well. 
Next add the puffed rice, salt, rasam pwd, fried peanuts and mix well. 
Add coriander leaves, lemon juice and serve Cucumber KadlePuri Upma immediately.

Khara Kadlepuri

Khara Kadlepuri or Spicy Puffed Rice -is simple and easy snack recipe. Enjoy with hot cup of tea. An easy vacation recipe for kids.



Khara Kadlepuri ,Puffed rice,

                 Khara Kadlepuri 

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Puffed Rice/Kadle Puri (kurmura)
  • Few Peanuts (kadalekayi)
  • Few White Dal(Hurikadle)
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili pwd -1tsp
  • Salt for taste
  • 1-2 tbsp oil
Seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Jeera
  • Few curry leaves
  • Red chilies-1-2
  • Hing -pinch
  • Turmeric-pinch


Method: 

In a deep pan, heat the oil fry peanuts and white dal and remove on a plate.
In a kadai, prepare the seasoning.
Heat oil, add mustard seeds and when it starts to pop up, add jeera,hing,turmeric, red chillies, red chili pwd, curry leaves.
Once done, add the puffed rice and fry well .
Add salt and mix well add the fried peanuts and white dal and mix well.

Store Khara Kadlepuri in an air tight container.
