Ingredients

  • 3 big sweet potatoes, sliced fine
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp chana dal
  • 1/2 tsp urad dal
  • Pinch of hing (asafoetida)
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 5-6 green chilies, chopped
  • Fresh coriander leaves
  • Few curry leaves
  • Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Wash and slice the sweet potatoes into small pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal, hing, turmeric, curry leaves, and chopped chilies. Fry for a few minutes.
  3. Add the sweet potatoes, mix well. Add salt and stir-fry until tender.
  4. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and a squeeze of lemon juice. Optional: Add grated coconut for extra flavor.
  5. Serve hot with rasam rice or enjoy with chapatis!
