Gorikayi Palya-II

Gorikayi Palya-II, also known as Gavar Sabzi, is a simple, satisfying dish packed with traditional goodness that pairs perfectly with Indian breads. This recipe strikes a beautiful balance of earthy and spicy flavors, while the roasted peanut masala adds a rich, nutty depth, making it both wholesome and incredibly delicious.

Gorikayi is known as Cluster beans in English.

Ingredients:

  • Gorikayi Palya-II
    Gorikayi/cluster beans-1 cup
  • finely chopped (cleaned and washed) 
  • Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Bhath pudi-1-2 tsp
  • Peanut powder-1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
For seasoning:
  • Oil- 1-2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal -1/2 tsp
  • Chana dal-1/2 tsp
  • Hing-a pinch
  • Turmeric -1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves-3-4
  • Peanuts-few
Method: 

Heat oil in a pan and add all the items in the seasonings, add the gorikayi/cluster beans and mix. Cover it with a lid. Once the vegetable is done add bhath pudi, peanut powder, salt, and mix well. Add grated coconut. Mix well. Serve Gorikayi Palya-II hot with plain white rice or chapati.

Gorikayi Hesarkaalu Palya

Gorikayi Hesarkaalu Palya or Gavar Moong Sabzi  is a delicious combination for Indian breads. Enjoy this sabzi with a blend of spices and coconut. Gorikayi is known as Cluster beans in English.


Ingredients:
    Gorikayi Hesarkaalu Palya
  • Gorikayi/cluster beans-1 cup
  • finely chopped (cleaned and washed)
  • Potato-1/2 cup chopped
  • Green Moong-1/2 cup (pre-soaked)
  • Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Bhath pudi-1-2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
For seasoning:
  • Oil- 1-2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal -1/2 tsp
  • Chana dal-1/2 tsp
  • Hing-a pinch
  • Turmeric -1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves-3-4
Method: 

Heat oil in a pan and add all the items in the seasonings, add the gorikayi/cluster beans and green moong and mix. Cover it with a lid. After 3-4 mins, add the chopped potatoes and stir. Once the vegetables are done add bhath pudi, salt, and mix well. Add grated coconut. Mix well. Serve Gorikayi Hesarkaalu Palya hot with rasam rice or chapati.

Gorikayi Aloo Masala Bhath / ClusterBeans Aloo Masala Rice

Gorikayi Aloo Masala Bhath / ClusterBeans Aloo Masala Rice is spicy rice variety An easy one pot meal made with gavar/cluster beans with roasted potatoes and homemade bhath masala powder.Nutritious and healthy.

Ingredients: 

Gorikayi Aloo Masale Bhath
Gorikayi Aloo Masala Bhath / ClusterBeans Aloo Masala Rice
  • 1 cup Cooked Rice 
  • 1/2 cup chopped gorikayi (gavar/clusterbeans)
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced potatoes
  • salt as per taste
  • Dry coconut-2 tsp


Seasoning


  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard(sasive)
  • 1/2 tsp chana dal
  • 1/2 tsp urad dal
  • 2-3 tbsp Bhath Masala pwd
  • 5-6 Curry leaves
  • Turmeric pwd-pinch
  • Hing-pinch




Method: Cook rice and Allow the rice to cool,spread it on a plate.Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds,turmeric, curry leaves ,hing,chana dal,urad dal.Once done add chopped gorikayi and potatoes to the above seasoning. Saute frequently till done.Next add salt and masala powder. Mix well.Add the cooked rice .Mix well.Cover and cook on low heat.Granish with dry coconut.Serve hot.



(you can add MTR Vangi Bhath pwd also)

Gorikayi Masale Bhath / ClusterBeans Masala Rice

Gorikayi Bhath / ClusterBeans Masala Rice is spicy rice variety .An easy one pot meal made with gavar/cluster beans blended with kabuli chana and homemade bhath masala powder.Nutritious and healthy.

Ingredients: 

Cluster Beans One pot meal
Gorikayi Masala Bhath
  • 1 cup Cooked Rice 
  • 1/2 cup chopped gorikayi (gavar/clusterbeans)
  • 1/4 cup boiled kabuli chana / kabulkadle kaalu
  • salt as per taste
  • Grated coconut-2 tsp


Seasoning


  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard(sasive)
  • 1/2 tsp chana dal
  • 1/2 tsp urad dal
  • 2-3 tbsp Bhath Masala pwd
  • 5-6 Curry leaves
  • Turmeric pwd-pinch
  • Hing-pinch

Gorikayi Matodi Palya

Gorikayi Matwadi Palya
Gorikayi Matodi Palya

Gorikayi Matodi Palya /Matwadi palya (clusterbeans) is a South Indian speciality .A sabzi of simple gavar/guar with a mix of lentils (chana dal) coconut and spices.It is tasty and spicy.


Ingredients:

Gorikayi/cluster beans-1 cup
 finely chopped
(cleaned and washed)

Channa dal - 1 cup
Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
Green Chillies -5-6
Ginger grated- 1 tsp
Jeera-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves few (opt)

For seasoning:
Oil- 2-3 tbsp
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Urad dal -1/2 tsp
Chana dal-1/2 tsp
Hing-a pinch
Turmeric -1/4 tsp
Red Chillies-1-2
Curry leaves-3-4

Method: Soak the channadal for 2 -3 hours along with jeera.Drain the water.Grind it along with coconut,ginger,chillies .Add  very less water for grinding.The mix should be coarse.Meanwhile heat oil in a pan and add all the items in the seasonings,add the gorikayi/cluster beans and mix.Cover it with a lid.Once the vegetable is done add the ground paste,salt and mix well.Let it cook on low heat for 10-15 mins.Keep stirring in between.Garnish with coriander leaves.Serve this matodi palya / paruppu usli hot with plain white rice or chapati.
