Kaju Peas Masala

Kaju Peas Gravy (Cashew nuts with peas) or Kaju Peas Masala is delectable and rich spicy side dish that can be enjoyed with Indian Breads. Kaju Matar Masala is one of those comforting dishes that instantly makes a meal feel special. Made with soft cashews, tender green peas, and a rich, mildly spiced gravy, this recipe brings together simplicity and indulgence in the best way.


Kaju Peas Masala
Kaju Peas Gravy
Ingredients:
1/4 cup Cashew Nuts (roasted)
1/2 cup peas steamed
1 tomato (pureed)
1 /2 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste

1 tsp dhania jeera pwd
1 tsp red chili pwd
1 tsp garam masala 
1/2 kasuri methi crushed (Everest)
1/2 tbsp Fresh Cream (Opt)
1 tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp jeera
Few Coriander leaves
Salt to taste

For Grinding
1 onion chopped
1/4 tsp  Cinnamon pwd
1-2 Cloves
1-2 green chilies
5-6 cashews
1 pod elachi


Method- Grind all the ingredients listed under grinding list into fine paste with little water. Keep it aside. Heat oil in pan, add oil/ghee add jeera, the onion paste and stir on low flame for 5 mins.
Next add in the masala pwds, ginger garlic paste and stir for 2-3 mins.
Add the tomato puree and mix well. Add salt ,steamed peas and little water and cook for some time.
Add the roasted cashew nuts, let the gravy cook for 5-7 mins on low flame.

Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve Kaju Peas Masala or Kaju Matar Masala hot with any Indian Breads.

Adjust the spice/salt as per your taste.
