Pav Bhaji

Pav Bhaji is an extremely popular all time favorite Mumbai fast food now equally enjoyed in other places as well. Enjoy it as a snack or for dinner or a party! Pav Bhaji is a delight and holds a special place for many of us! A blend of mixed vegetables with flavorful spices has its own richness and taste.


Ingredients

  • Potato-1big 
  • Boiled peas, carrots, cauliflower- 
  • 1 cup each
  • (mashed well)
  • Onion-1,finely chopped
  • Ripe Tomatoes-4-5 finely chopped
  • Capsicum-1,finely chopped
  • Ginger garlic paste-2tsp
  • Butter/oil-2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder to taste
  • Tomato puree-1tbsp (opt)
  • Pavbhajimasala-3 tsp
  • Finely chopped greenchilies-1-2(opt)



To serve:

  • Chopped onions
  • Lemon wedges
  • Chopped fresh coriander
  • Pav or bread (toasted in butter)



Method:

Heat a butter/oil in a pan, add chopped onions/chilies fry well.
Next add capsicum and ginger garlic paste sauté well. Next add mashed boiled vegetables,  tomato puree, pav bhaji masala, red chili powder and salt, cook for some time.
Add little water if required and mix the vegetables well to form a nice blended gravy.
Serve with chopped onions, coriander on top of bhaji, along toasted pav/ bread and lemon wedges.
