Aloo Moong Bites

If you're looking for a healthy and delicious snack recipe, these Aloo Moong Bites are a must-try. Made with potatoes and whole green moong, these protein-rich bites are cooked in a paddu tava using very little oil, making them a healthier alternative to deep-fried snacks. 

Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they are perfect for evening tea-time, lunch boxes alike.

 

Ingredients

  • Moong (boiled)-1 cup
  • Potatoes boiled/shredded-1 cup
    Aloo Moong Bites
  • Onion-chopped-1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste 
  • Turmeric -1/4 tsp
  • Hing-pinch
  • Green chillies 1-2 (finely chopped)
  • Lemon juice 1 tsp
  • Jeera-1/2 tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves 
  • Roasted crushed Peanuts
  • Chaat Masala-1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon 
  • Garam Masala-1 tsp
  • Oil 
  • Bread crumbs-for covering/binding

Method-

 In a bowl, add the boiled moong and smash well, add all the above ingredients except oil and mix well. 


Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them as balls. Roll it over bread crumbs.  On a Paddu / Appe tava, add oil and place the balls , shallow fry till golden brown on low heat. Flip on the other side slowly.

Once done serve Aloo Moong Bites hot mint chutney, tomato ketchup, or your favorite dip for a tasty and wholesome treat.
