Bonda Soup

Bonda Soup is a perfect evening time snack cum appetizer, which is very soothing and super tasty especially in cool weather. It is crispy bonda in hot soup made from lentils that is blended with mild spices. It is no onion no garlic recipe, easy to prepare. Hot favourite of people in Bangalore and Mysore. 

A must-have in any South Indian Joints.

Bonda Soup

Ingredients:


Soup



  • 1 cup Toor Dal 
  • 1/2 tsp tumeric
  • Water - 2-3 cups
  • salt to taste
  • Grated ginger(opt)
  • Pepper pwd-1 tsp
  • Few coriander leaves
Seasoning:
  • 1 tsp oil/ghee
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds 
  • 1/2 tsp jeera
  • hing -pinch
  • curry leaves
  • Green chillies 3-4 chopped
  • Lemon juice

Bonda Batter for making bondas

(it is same recipe - Medu vada batter)

Method :  

Heat the oil in a kadai. Once it is hot enough, make bondas and put it carefully in the oil. Deep fry the bondas well. Strain and take it out. 

Pressure cook dal with turmeric and oil. Heat oil in a pan,add the seasoning items once done add to the dal, add water to give soup consistency, add salt and mix well. Cook on low heat for 5-10 mins. Add lemon juice. 


Serving- Take 2 to 3 bonda in a bowl. Pour 2 to 3 spoons of soup, garnish with chopped coriander leaves / cilantro.

Eggless Marble Cake

Eggless Marble Cake is a delicious swirl blend of Vanilla and Chocolate flavors. Try baking this marvel, you will surely love it.


Ingredients
  • Eggless Marble Cake
    • All Purpose Flour - 2 cups +2 tbsp
    • Baking Powder - 2 tsp
    • Baking Soda - ½ tsp
    • Salt - ½ tsp
    • Sugar - 1 cup
    • Cocoa powder Hersheys - 4 tbsp
    • Oil - ½ cup
    • Curds - 1 cup
    • Milk - ¼ cup
    • Hot Water - 4 tbsp
    • Vanilla syrup- 1 tsp

    Method -   Preheat the oven to 180ºc, prepare the baking Loaf tray by lining with parchment paper. 

    Next sieve the flour, baking powder, baking soda well. In a bowl, mix sugar and oil and blend well. Next add water, curds, milk and mix again. Once it is mixed well, add the flour mix slowly and fold in carefully. Do not over mix

    Meanwhile dissolve 4 tbsp of coco powder in 4 tbsp of hot water. Mix well till it becomes kind of sauce. Set aside. Now divide this batter into 2 equal parts.

    Vanilla Batter-  Add vanilla essence and 2 tbsp of all purpose flour. Mix it well.

    Chocolate Batter- In other half of the batter,  add the sauce, mix well till the batter turn brown in color.

    Pour in turns in the loaf pan- add vanilla batter first, then chocolate batter add in sequence, keep tapping the pan in between. 

    Place the loaf tray and bake it for 35-45 minutes or till done.

    Once done, let it cool , slice and serve, Enjoy yummy and delicious chocolate cake.

Kadle Kaalu Aloo Masala / Aloo Chana Masala

Kadle Kaalu Aloo Masala (Aloo Chana Masala) is a easy gravy for your chapati or rice. A blend of Chana with aloo and coconut with masala the gravy is tasty and spicy.

Kadale Kaalu or Chana is Brown Chickpea , a legume variety, healthy and rich in proteins, gluten free and vegan delight.

Ingredients

Kadle Kaalu Aloo Masala

  • 1 cup boiled Kala Chana(kadle)
  • 1 cup boiled potatoes (big cubes)
  • Salt-taste
  • Water
  • Sambhar pwd-2 tbsp
  • Coconut-1/4 cup grated
  • Onion-1/2 cup chopped
  • Tomato-1/4 cup chopped 
Seasoning:
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds 
  • 1/2 tsp jeera
  • 1/2 tsp channa dal
  • 1/2 tsp urad dal
  • hing -pinch
  • curry leaves-few
  • Method :  Cook the chana well. Grind grated coconut, onion with sambar pwd. Next in a vessel , add the cooked channa, potatoes  add the ground paste and mix. Add salt, chopped tomato and mix well. Cook on low heat for 5-10 mins. Heat oil in a pan,add the seasoning items, once done add to the sabzi.
    Garnish with coriander leaves.
    Serve Kadale Kaalu Aloo Masala hot with white rice or chapati.

Aloo Besan Fry

Aloo Besan Fry or Aloo Fry is made from simple potatoes blended in Bhath powder and besan- making it a crispy tasty sabzi. Enjoy it with chapati or Rasam Rice.

            Aloo Besan Fry

Tasty, spicy and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 3 big Potatoes
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp chana dal
  • 1/2 tsp urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp jeera
  • Hing-pinch
  • Turmeric-pinch
  • 2-3 tsp Bhath pwd
  • 1 tbsp besan
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • Salt to taste

Method: Cut the potatoes in small pieces. Heat Oil in pan, add mustard, chanadal, uraddal, jeera, hing tumeric, curry leaves, and fry for some time.  next add the potatoes and fry. Keep frying in between till done.

Add the masala pwd in the oil, Add besan and mix. Next add salt and mix well, fry for some time till the masala coats well on the potatoes.  Serve hot with chapati or rasam rice.

Masala Uttapam

Masala Uttapam is easy and tasty dosa variety. This can be enjoyed over the weekend with the available dosa batter. 

The crispy Masala Uttapam is delicious, and healthy South Indian breakfast recipe.

Masala Uttapam
Masala Uttapam Dosa 

Ingredients:

  • Dosa batter 2 cup
  • Coriander leaves
  • Jeera-1tsp
  • Grated Coconut-2 tsp
  • Oil
For Masala topping
  • Onion- 1/2 cup
  • Tomato-1/2 cup
  • Potato boiled-1/2 cup
  • Green Chilies-4-5
  • Red chili pwd-1 tsp
  • Salt for taste
  • Oil-1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp




Method: Heat a little oil in a pan.  Add the mustard seeds, jeera, once done add onion, tomatoes, green chillies, and fry well. Next add the boiled and mashed potatoes, salt, coriander leaves, red chili pwd and mix. Mix thoroughly and cook for a few minutes. Next spread dosa batter on the tawa, add the filling on the top. Spread well. Add oil around the sides and cook until it is brown. Slowly flip over and let it cook well on the other side.

Serve hot with butter and chutney.

Aloo Paneer Masala


Aloo Paneer Masala is a delicious and flavorful side dish that goes perfectly well with Indian Breads or rice. A combination of potatoes and paneer in spicy onion and tomato blend make this one tasty gravy.


Aloo Paneer Masala
  • Ingredients
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 1/2 cup tomato puree
  • 1⁄2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste 
  • 1 tsp dhania-jeera pwd
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 cup potato cubes
  • 1 cup paneer cubes
  • coriander leaves, to garnish 
  • Oil-3 tbsp
  • 1 tbsp cream



    To Grind 
  • Few cashews (soaked in water)
  • 1-2 Green Chilies
  • 1/2 cup chopped Onion

MethodGrind all the items mentioned above under grind into fine paste. Add oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds. Next add the chilly powder, garam masala ground paste and the tomato puree and keep stirring. Next add fried potato cubes and paneer cubes. Add salt, sugar and mix well. Top it up with cream  Cook till the gravy thickens.  Serve hot with Indian Bread of your choice.
